Some kind words from our friends

We struggled to find a quality provider for Mum - many places have been given glowing reports from the Quality Care Commission, but this was not the case. In some homes, my mother was left with bed sores and zombiefied as extra drugs were given to keep her quiet. However, this was not the case at Beaconville. Under excellent management, my mother was treated as a human and all her needs were catered for. She was warm, clean and well nourished. It took a worrying weight off the family.

My wife used Beaconville for day and respite care and finally as a resident between 1996 and December 2011. The last six months she was completely bed-ridden. She went into residential care to attend to bed sores she had developed at home and it became obvious that the quality of the care and attention she was receiving was superb. The home is managed at the highest level, the care, love and support given by all staff to the patients and their family is a direct reflection of this quality.

My wife was resident in Beaconville for six years, five of which she was completely bed-ridden. In that time she never had a bed sore or an infection. The care and attention shown throughout her stay was exemplary. The management of the home by the senior staff was of the highest order. All the staff were kind and considerate not only to the patient but to all visitors and members of the family. I would have no reservations in recommending Beaconville as a safe and caring home for your loved one.

My Father is a resident at Beaconville and I live in Wiltshire so I am not able to visit on a regular basis. However I never have to worry about my Dad as he is so well cared for. He is always clean and healthy and as happy in his own little world as it is possible to be. He relates to the staff well and is encouraged to join the many planned activities and any concerns are dealt with promptly. The staff are never too busy to talk to us either on the phone or when we visit.

A very caring home living up to its marvellous reputation for providing excellent nursing care. Leading the way in the Plymouth and South Hams area. I found the staff emanating from Matron downwards very professional and sympathetic to their residents needs. All staff were well trained, maximum supervision and attention given at all times 24/7. Relatives concerns were always attended to immediately. Comprehensive activities/entertainment tailored to needs of residents. Thoroughly recommend.
